Mark Hyland to start on bay93.9 Morning Crew on Monday

The bay Morning Crew with Mark & Milly will kick off at 6am on Monday, March 15.

The new show will feature Mark Hyland, bay93.9’s content director, alongside existing co-host Lisa ‘Milly’ Millard.

Radio Today first broke the news of the new lineup a few weeks ago, with Hyland set to take a step back from his wider Grant Broadcasters role of regional content director across Victoria and South Australia so he can get behind the mic.

The station said after an exhaustive hunt for a new co-host for Milly, “it turns out he was in the building the whole time”.

Hyland said it was a big decision that he didn’t take lightly.

“This move will allow me to focus all my energy on Breakfast and the station as a whole,” he said. “I’m really pumped for what the future holds for bay and I’m excited to be on-air with Milly. It’s a win-win for me.”

The station’s content director, Andy Mathers, said he is extremely happy with the decision.

“It’s such an important role, so we took our time. Milly’s husband Dave ‘Ferg’ Ferguson did a great job filling in for a couple of months, but when Mark’s name came up in conversation, it was a light bulb moment. Mark’s had 25 years in the market, most of it in an on-air capacity, so the audience know him. Mark will bring a tremendous amount of local knowledge and local content to the show….and Milly is a superstar, but we already knew that,” he said.

Former co-host Hayden Miller left last year when he decided to relocate to Canberra.

Good announcer but runs with the Rabbits and Hunts with the Hounds. When I worked at one of Grants stations in Victoria, Up at my job there due to my mental health and he offered no support. I sent him an email reaching out and thanking him for the opp, but no reply. However, I wish him all the best in his new role. He is an excellent announcer and goid bloke.
