Marty Sheargold steps down from Melbourne’s Triple M Breakfast
SCA has today confirmed that Marty Sheargold has decided to step down from the 105.1 Triple M Melbourne Breakfast shift.
Sheargold has scaled things back, as he continues to balance commitments including his stand-up comedy and TV appearances.
Sheargold says “Taking an extended break at the end of last year has reinforced the importance of spending more quality time with my family. As a result, I have made the decision to prioritise self-care, maintaining a better work/life balance and will not be returning to my Triple M Breakfast show.”
“However, I will continue The Marty Sheargold Show podcast, along with the 3-4pm national Triple M show.”
“I want to thank my immediate team and the network for their ongoing support and understanding.”
“I’d also like to thank the listeners for their loyalty to both the show and the station. Like them, I remain a Triple M fan.”
SCA Chief Content Officer Dave Cameron says “SCA supports Marty’s decision to rebalance his personal and work commitments, and we’d like to thank Marty and his team for creating a unique and hilarious Breakfast show for Melbourne since 2021.”
“It is exciting however that our listeners will continue to hear Marty alongside his current team of Troy Ellis, Loren Barry and Will Ralston across both the Triple M network as a national Afternoon radio show and on his fan-favourite daily podcast on LiSTNR.”
Details of the new 105.1 Triple M Melbourne Breakfast show will be announced in due course.
Sad to hear the news of no longer having a Marty Breakfast Show, but happy to hear he (and the team) will remain at thew M’s and still produce a show.
Marty is too good for radio these days.
killer show and team, love that they will still be together.
I wish you well Marty, thanks for making me laugh every morning. Went where others feared to tread.
Changes in Melb breakfast yet again. It will an interesting 2nd half of the year.
Ah this breaks my heart.
I followed Marty from Nova to MMM. He is the best. Along with his amazing team, Lauren, Troy, Matt and Will.
Glad the podcast will still be available.
Bravo for doing what is right for you and your family .
I’m not surprised he left because he was getting a paid a lot to rate poorly.
Lewis and lowe for breaky Melbourne Dylan Lewis shane lowe would smash it
Marty had very bad ratings overall So triple M management had no choice but to tell him he is services were no longer required. Marty was only saying he was stepping away from driven breakfast to save his reputation. I am sorry I have to say this but that’s how I see it.
SCA need’s to get Christian O’Connell on board.
Would Fifi, Fev and Nick jump ship to the Ms?
I love you guys. All the best.
Hughesy and Kate on MMM
Get Sam Pang on triple m he can team up with some retired footballers who are in the media like Dale Thomas or Issac Smith or Abbey homes
I wonder if SCA will replace Marty with Hughesy and Kate, with Ed being the Achour! Then replace them with Mike E and Emma on 2day fm.
SCA would have to pay Kate Langbroek a heck of a lot to get her back into regular breakfast radio. I think she’s more than happy with growing her new podcast and focussing on her other media activities. But what a coup it would be if SCA managed it.. and paid big bucks to get Sacha French back to produce them.. would definitely win over listeners (sadly can’t see it happening).
