Grant Broadcasters on the hunt for regional content director as Mark Hyland joins bay93.9 Breakfast

Former Editor & Content Director

Grant Broadcasters is seeking a regional content director for Victoria and South Australia to replace Mark Hyland.

Hyland is returning to the airwaves alongside Lisa ‘Milly’ Millard as part of the bay93.9 Breakfast show from March as well as hanging onto his content director role for the station.

Millard said goodbye to her co-host Hayden Miller last year when he decided to relocate to Canberra.

Hyland’s replacement will be based in Geelong, Victoria and will be responsible for ensuring the local content directors are executing the stations’ and network’s programming strategy. This will include oversight of all programming activities including content, marketing/ audience tactics, staffing, localism strategies, training, system usage, reporting, compliance and recruitment.

“You will be expected to drive a positive winning programming culture that values people,” the job ad explains, “whilst taking a strong operational leadership role delivering growing levels of audience and audience engagement.”

The company has had a raft of movements and promotions within its senior content team over the past year.

In May, Ryan Rathbone, then content director for Queensland and the Northern Territory, was elevated to be group content boss. He was replaced by Chris Ivers across Queensland and the NT.

In October, a restructure saw Hyland add South Australia to his remit, as Glenn Bakker, became operations manager for all South Australian-based stations for the broadcaster.
