More local news and local conversations on Saturdays

Reporter

ABC Local Radio audiences are now getting more local news coverage and local stories on Saturdays from 8am.

The extra 30 minutes of local Saturday morning content was introduced at the weekend, featuring news, analysis and interviews with local reporters, political journalists and commentators about the key local issues across states and territories.

The change in programming replaces This Week and delivers a more locally curated and relevant program.

ABC Head Audio Content Ben Latimer says the changes reflect the ABC’s commitment to local radio audiences and the issues that matter to them.

“This is an exciting development for our loyal Saturday audiences who rely on ABC Local Radio for the right mix of news, information and great weekend conversations.”

“Regardless of where you live and what Saturday mornings mean to you and your family, the ABC and its presenters will provide the right mix of important information and weekend conversations.”
