Livinia Nixon to host weekend brekkie on Nine’s music stations

Staff Writer

Nine News Melbourne’s chief weather presenter Livinia Nixon will make a return to radio on Saturday (July 4) to host weekend breakfast on Nine’s recently launched music stations.

Nixon will be on-air from 6am to midday on 2UE 954, Magic 1278, 4BH 882 and 6GT DAB+.

“Livinia will bring a sparkle to our weekend schedule as she plays the greatest hits of all time, along with the latest news, weather and traffic,” content boss Greg Byrnes said.

“With Stevie Jacobs hosting weekday breakfast and Livinia now stepping into weekends we’ve settled on a morning lineup which gives music lovers their best start to the day, 7 days a week.”

Nixon has worked across a variety of radio stations, including drive on Mix FM (now KIIS FM), a breakfast stint on Nova FM and daily crosses for 3AW.

“Playing the greatest hits takes us back to a simpler, happier time and the news updates keep us on top of what is happening in the world today,” Nixon said.

“It’s the perfect combination. I’m really looking forward to spending the weekend with listeners as we bring you the greatest hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s.”

Nixon has been part of the Nine family for more than 20 years and is best known for bringing Melbourne viewers the weather report each weeknight on Nine News.

She has worked on a long list of programs including Hey Hey It’s Saturday, Temptation, Carols by Candlelight and Today, while currently reporting for Getaway.
