K-Rock Geelong ‘giving back’
This morning at 6am the anchor of K-ROCK Geelong's Breakfast show, Leroy Brown, commenced a marathon 27-hour broadcast to highlight the issues faced by those with mental illness.
The 27-hour broadcast will feature interviews with former AFL player manager who will discuss his experiences with depression and drugs, Wayne Carey, Jeff Kennet, and Geelong Cats footballer Simon Hogan. K-ROCK will also have experts in mental health in the studio and on the phone.
This is another example of radio using its reach and influence in the community to do important work.
The broadcast will culminate at 9am Friday, and presumably Leroy Brown will be asleep on the jocks room couch at around 9.01am.
K-ROCK will be posting all the interviews and pictures on their website through the broadcast, which you can also listen to their website here.
