John Laws returns to the airwaves following hospitalisation

Former Editor & Content Director

John Laws is back on the radio after an extended absence.

Laws disappeared from the airwaves in March, and was in hospital in need of treatment for an infection.

In his opening talk break this morning on 2SM, Laws revealed he actually had two trips to hospital, but appears to now be on the mend.

“It’s very good to be back. Thank you very much for all the well wishes I’ve been receiving during my time away,” he said. “I had two trips to hospital, I went once, then I got out, and they decided they liked me, so they invited me back again, and I went back again. Anyway [I’m] better now, well hopefully better now.”

Throughout Laws’ absence, Marcus Paul filled in for the radio veteran, and provided updates on his condition.

“John knows, Lawsy knows, there’s a lot of interest in his wellbeing, and he wanted me to thank all of his loyal listeners, and those listeners on the Super Radio Network and elsewhere that tune into his program each and every day, he wanted me to let you know that he’s looking forward to returning to his program very soon,” he said on his March 17 program.

“He’s been through a really, really tough time. In fact, it hasn’t been a good year, but he’ll probably come out with flying colours like the old juggernaut that he is, okay?”

When John does hang up the golden microphone 2SM should look at bringing onboard Michael McLaren to morning radio.

I listened to the statement read by Marcus Paul last month.

Marcus has a beautiful radio speaking voice.

When John has to retire , a long time from now i hope, how about inviting Marcus Paul to take over….he would certainly get rid of that terrible person who intrudes by the name of Norman. Good on you Lawsie
