Jase and Lauren aircheck Matt Preston… it’s not pretty

Dead Air… the radio announcer’s nightmare!

Matt Preston got a surprise aircheck when he joined KIIS 101.1’s Jase & Lauren in the Morning for a fun chat this week.

Matt, who presents Saturday Mornings with Matt Preston on ABC Radio Melbourne, joined Jase and Lauren in the studio, where they replayed some audio from Matt’s very own show on ABC Radio Melbourne.

The amusing audio highlighted some recent radio technical hiccups that the newby to radio, Matt, had to navigate, including 17 minutes of the emergency tape playing when there was silence coming form then studio.

The segment began well, with Matt confidently bringing his own mic windsock to avoid corona virus germs, but the confidence soon disappeared when Jase and Lauren replayed segments from his ABC show to give him an aircheck.

“There is total terror of those silence moments,” he told Jase and Lauren.
