Jane Palfreyman to act as SBS Managing Director

Jane Palfreyman (pictured), SBS‘s Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer, will act as Managing Director while the broadcaster’s Board commence an independent and global recruitment process to replace the outgoing James Taylor.

James announced earlier this month that he would step down after 13 years for a new role as oOh!media Limited CEO. He will remain with SBS until November for a transition period.

SBS Board Acting Chair, Christine Zeitz, said the interim appointment provides continuity of leadership and ensures an orderly transition until the next Managing Director is appointed.

Jane Palfreyman joined SBS in 2012 and has held senior positions across Sales and Marketing. In her current role, she leads SBS’s commercial strategy, brand and audience engagement, client partnerships and revenue growth.

Jane’s appointment as Acting Managing Director takes effect from August 28, 2025.
