Jacqui Felgate – one of Melbourne’s best known broadcasters – is looking forward to joining 3AW’s footy commentary and analysis team in 2023, as the station unveils the first stage of a revamped line up for its AFL coverage.

After stints filling in on 3AW Breakfast and Afternoons, Felgate says the role is a great fit for her.

“I grew up listening to 3AW footy while standing with my mum in the outer at Kardinia Park,” she says.

“I’ve loved filling in over recent months and I’m delighted to be able to talk footy with our listeners next season. It really is a privilege to work alongside such experienced and talented broadcasters.”

In other news, Sam McClure will be the inaugural host of 3AW’s Wide World of Sports radio program, set to debut Wednesday, November 2 at 6.00pm.

Wide World of Sports is launching two new AFL Podcasts in 2023, featuring commentary, analysis and in-depth discussion from those in the know.

Ash Earnshaw, Nine’s Director of Sales, Total Audio, says “Nine continues to invest in market leading talent with different voices, providing advertisers new ways to connect with engaged sport audiences.”

“Across Total Audio at Nine, Wide World of Sports continues to be a focus as a platform for brands across live radio, live stream and podcasts where we are growing year on year. It is exciting to bring our live and local AFL content to sports fans, as part of our national Wide World of Sports brand footprint.”

2GB has announced a revamped line up for the Continuous Call Team in 2023, and changes to its flagship Wide World of Sports program and podcast offering.

Former rugby league international Allana Ferguson will join the CCT in its 37th season on air, alongside Kangaroo and NSW Origin stars Boyd Cordner and Josh Morris.

Listeners through 2GB, 4BC and right across Australia will still hear all their favourites too, with Darryl Brohman, Mark ‘Piggy’ Riddell, Mark Levy and David Morrow returning in 2023, while Ray Hadley will headline the commentary box during the State of Origin Series and NRL Finals.

2GB’s Wide World of Sports program will again be led by Mark Levy in 2023. He’ll be joined by Premiership coach Shane Flanagan, NSW and premiership captains Paul Gallen and Brad Fittler, together with legendary broadcaster Ken Sutcliffe.

And in a new offering for 2023, 9Podcasts presents all-new NRL podcast featuring Storm, Queensland and Australian legend Billy Slater.
