“To be involved in something that uplifts women like this is incredible”: hit 90.9 Sea FM’s Bella Frizza on her Women of the Year nomination

Staff Writer

After an eventful 2017 so far, being nominated in Cosmopolitan’s Women of the Year Awards is the highlight of the year for Sea FM announcer Bella Frizza.

Bella earned herself recognition in the TV / Radio Personality of the Year category, alongside Channel Nine reporter Julie Snook, host of BS VICELAND’s The Feed Jan Fran, KIIS host Sophie Monk and Fox Sports presenter Tara Rushton.

As the freshest face in the category, Bella told Radio Today that it is an honour to be “involved in something that uplifts women and recognises them for being who they are”.

Following her appearance on Married At First Sight, radio has become a platform which has allowed her to inspire women – especially when it comes to turning dreams into a reality.

“The main reason I got into radio as I feel women haven’t had as much of a voice as men have in the past,” she said.

“Why shouldn’t we be able to express ourselves on every subject possible? We are all human.”

“I hope that anything I do makes [listeners] believe that if I can go from being the teased girl in school to someone who has made their dreams come true, then anyone can!”

The magazine revealed the nominees yesterday after “looking high and low to find the most inspiring, extraordinary and goddamned talented women” in Australia.

Voting is now open via the Cosmopolitan website, with the winners announced in October.
