How to tell stories and “Never be boring”

As humans, we have a powerful connection to stories, they make us tick. Without stories to inspire us, share our message and help make sense of the world, we wouldn’t be in the same position we are today.

This is especially important in broadcasting when connecting with the audience.

Well-told stories are a speaker’s most powerful tool, a non-negotiable requirement to perform professionally and sell oneself.

A good story connects listeners with the storyteller, stimulating the brain and creating a ripple effect that is the result of a captivating story – an opportunity missed by the bad storyteller.

Radio Today Podcast Awards 2022 judge Valerie Geller of Geller Media International says, “There are NO boring stories, only boring storytellers!”

Named by Radio Ink as one of the Most Influential Women in Broadcasting, Valerie works with more than 500 TV/Radio stations throughout the world, training broadcasters and podcasters to “NEVER BE BORING.”

In Australia, she has lectured at AFTRS, presented at CRA’s Radio Alive events and trained presenters and producers at SBS and the ABC

Tomorrow Valerie is speaking at the Powerful Radio webinar for Local Broadcast Sales at 0400 AEDT, providing information on the most important components of telling stories.

The session will share:

  1. The 3 mistakes salespeople make
