Hot Tomato’s Love for Lilly

Staff Writer

In another wonderful example of how radio can impact peoples lives, Hot Tomato’s Flan & Emily Jade are running a content arc through the Breakfast show about a beautiful young girl called Lilly.

Lilly is 6-years old, and the daughter of a Hot Tomato listener.

She was born with a rare disorder called Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita, which basically means her joints are in a fixed fused position. Lilly has undergone 10 operations in her life, and her family are trying to raise money to buy her a motorised wheelchair.

LillyHowever, they’re not just asking for donations. Lilly has mastered the art of painting with her mouth, and she is aiming to sell her paintings to help buy a wheelchair.

Which is where Hot Tomato have come in. ‘Flan & Emily Jade’ are arranging a fantastic event called ‘Love for Lilly’ to help, and are developing all the elements – the guest-list, the catering, every last detail on the Breakfast show this week.

On Monday night 11 July, 20 of Lilly’s paintings will be on display, and will be auctioned off, at the Royal Queensland Art Society in Broadbeach.

Attending will be a who’s who of Gold Coast celebrities including politicians, high-level business people, sporting identities….all with one objective……to ensure Lilly gets an awesome new motorised wheelchair.

We’ll let you know the results after Monday nights function, and well done to Hot Tomato for a great community initiative.
