Hamish & Andy reclaim #1 spot in latest Australian Podcast Ranker
Hamish & Andy have reclaimed the title of Australia’s #1 podcast, overtaking Mamamia Out Loud in the latest Australian Podcast Ranker, with news podcasts rounding out the top five.
Among the big movers for the month of April were ABC Business Daily, which shot 74 places up the list to come it at #53, and NOVA Entertainment‘s Straight Talk with Mark Bouris, which jumped 15 places to #31.

Stephen Haddad, Southern Cross Media Group’s Chief Operating Officer, said “Today’s April Triton Podcast Ranker results reinforce LiSTNR’s position as Australia’s leading commercial podcast network, showing continual year-on-year audience growth.”
“It’s fantastic to see The Inspired Unemployed debut in their first month of publishing with 222,981 monthly listeners, and the return of Hamish & Andy to the number one spot on the Triton Podcast Ranker (832,058 monthly listeners).”
“LiSTNR continues to co-create and represent some of Australia’s biggest podcasts with more titles in the top twenty than any other publisher and many climbing in their ranking position including Hamish & Andy, Life Uncut, Dan Does Footy, Happy Hour with Lucy and Nikki, The Imperfects, Triple M Footy AFL, Commsec Market Update, The Howie Games, 7News Just In, Triple M Rocks Footy NRL, Chat 10 Looks 3, Bizarre with Mick Molloy and Titus O’Reily, Everyone Relax, KIC Bump, and Motley Fool Money.”
“To see the LiSTNR team continue to maximise these growing audiences commercially through its investment in AdTech – and with its known audience – provides proven real-time advertising solutions for our clients.”
Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) continued its strong run in the latest ranker, with 18 titles again ranked inside the Australian Top 300.
SEN Chief Executive Craig Hutchison said the April results highlighted the continued strength of SEN’s flagship programs and the continued growth of the broader network.
“It’s incredibly pleasing to see SEN Breakfast continue to grow and consolidate its position as the number one radio podcast in the country,” Hutchison said.
““To have 18 titles inside the Top 300 – and to see almost every one of those programs improve month-on-month – speaks to the consistency of our content and the connection we have with sports fans across Australia.“
“We’re also seeing strong momentum in our NRL coverage, with SEN League’s growth reflecting the appetite from fans as we head into another exciting State of Origin period, while Sportsday’s jump this month shows how much audiences value informed, daily sports conversation.“
“The expansion of Sportsday across both Fox Footy and our SEN platforms is a natural next step as we continue to grow our audience across broadcast and podcast, giving fans more ways to engage with our content than ever before.
“Sport continues to be a powerful driver in the podcast space, and we’re proud to be leading that category with authentic, in-the-moment content that fans can access whenever they choose.”
SEN also notes that its locally produced shows – SEN WA Breakfast and Mornings with Mark Duffield – remain the only dedicated programs based and produced in Western Australia to feature in the Australian Top 300.

Lizzie Young, CEO of CRA, said “As the medium grows and advertiser interest deepens, the need for verified, independent data increases. The Ranker exists to meet that need – a single, credible source of truth for a thriving industry. For advertisers navigating an evolving landscape, that transparency is what turns interest into investment.”
In terms of who is listening and what’s trending, CRA says brands that plan ahead will be the ones that make the Father’s Day wish lists. Male podcast listeners aged 25–54 are tuning in to Sports (57%), Technology (52%) and Leisure (47%). 82% are employed full-time and 60% own a car, making this a high-income, asset-holding audience.
What’s going on with Smallzy dropping a massive 189 places?
Don’t worry Radio Nerdo ARN is an entertainment company they don’t care about ratings or rankings, linear or podcast …… nor do they care about profit …. lol
