From cancer ward to Supercars: Nath & Emma fuel ultimate really cool ride to school

Following on from last week’s launch, 2DayFM Breakfast’s Nath & Emma have delivered another unforgettable, high-octane Really Cool Ride to School experience for two of Sydney’s bravest little fighters.

Seven-year-old Bronson has spent the past two years bravely battling acute leukaemia. Just a few weeks ago, he hit the milestone of a lifetime by ringing the oncology ward bell to signify he is officially cancer-free. His aunt Maria nominated him for the surprise, telling Nath & Emma that the resilient youngster is completely obsessed with fast cars and everything Hot Wheels.

Knowing that Bronson didn’t fight this battle alone, Nath & Emma made sure his best friend – six-year-old Austin, who also recently battled cancer – was part of the experience.

Thanks to Ferrari Australia, who heard Bronson’s story and instantly wanted to make his dreams come true, a roaring convoy of four Ferraris pulled up to Bronson’s house at sunrise this morning to pick up the two best friends for the ride of their lives.

But the horsepower wasn’t the only thing that left the boys stunned. As a die-hard Parramatta Eels supporter, Bronson was left absolutely speechless when Eels stars Isaiah Iongi and Will Penisini popped up in the back seat of the Ferrari to join the commute.

The Eels went all-out for their biggest fan, surprising Bronson and his family with special game-day tickets to their upcoming home match against the Canberra Raiders at CommBank Stadium. In a dream come true for the young fan, Bronson will also get to run out onto the field through the official team guard of honour.

The camaraderie came full circle when last week’s Really Cool Ride to School star, Chayse, sent through a heartwarming message to cheer the boys on.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also had a special message of his own, praising Bronson and Austin for their incredible bravery and officially wishing them the best Friday ever.

The celebrations peaked upon arrival at Madang Avenue Public School in Whalan, where the surprises kept rolling in. Thanks to the Leukaemia Foundation, Bronson and Austin received over $500 worth of brand-new toys from Toymate, packed with the Hot Wheels cars and monster trucks they love.

Coles also stepped up, donating $500 worth of groceries to the school’s monthly ‘Breakfast Club’ to help feed the students for the rest of the year.

2DayFM Breakfast co-host Nath Roye said “Hearing what Bronson and Austin have gone through at such a young age is incredibly humbling. To see them go from hospital beds to the back of a roaring Ferrari with their footy heroes is exactly what this is all about. We wanted to give them the loudest and fastest celebration possible, and Sydney absolutely delivered once again!”

2DayFM Breakfast co-host Emma Chow added “Bronson ringing that bell was already a massive win, but watching him and Austin pull up to school like absolute rockstars in those Ferraris was pure magic. We are so grateful to Sydney for helping us turn a regular Friday into a day this beautiful school community will never forget.”

Nath & Emma’s search for Sydney’s most deserving kids continues, with the next Really Cool Ride to School locking and loading for next week.
