2Day listener Amy Pittman Hancock passed away, at 32 years of age, due to heart failure whilst brushing her young daughter’s hair.

She left behind her husband Shawn, and their four children aged one, three, seven and 11 years old.

Following Amy's death, Shawn had to leave his job as an interstate truck driver to care for the children, and Amy’s recently-widowed mother is the only other person available to provide hands-on support.

On-air with Shawn this morning, Jackie O said; “We know that you guys are doing it really, really tough right now and so we want to do something that will help ease the burden and put a smile on the kids’ faces.”

The station has given the family a trip to Bali staying at Club Med, and a $1,000 voucher to Deals Direct.
