GOLD104.3 announcers become ‘arch enemies’

Staff Writer

Long-time friends and GOLD104.3 announcers in Melbourne, Craig Huggins and Toni Tenaglia are “arch enemies” this week heading into the AFL preliminary final.

Huggins, the Mornings announcer, is a staunch Brisbane Lions supporter, while Tenaglia, who follows him in Afternoons, barracks for the Geelong Cats.

The two teams go head to head tomorrow evening at 7:40pm (AEDT), or 6:40pm Brisbane time at the Gabba for a spot in the AFL Grand Final.

“Toni and I have been great mates since the 80s at 3XY, but this week we’re arch enemies, with our teams playing each other for a spot in next week’s AFL Grand Final,” Huggins said, noting this was the duo’s Battle of the Studio.

Both Huggins and Tenaglia top their time slots in Melbourne’s FM battleground, but only one will be victorious tomorrow.

I concede that I had to bow down to Toni’s Cats. They were very good. Men vs boys.
