CRA release 2013 radio listening stats

Commercial Radio Australia have today released listening stats for 2013.

Cumulative audience has grown by 2.4% with more than 9.7 million people listening to metro commercial radio each week.

Home was still the main place of listening last year, making up 45% of all commercial radio listening.

Listening in the car continued to rise reaching 36%, up from 34% in 2012, 32% in 2010 and 28% in 2008. 17% listen at work and 2% elsewhere. 

Breakfast (M-F) had 7 million people listen each week while Drive (M-F) had almost 6.5 million people listening in metro markets.

The 10-17 demo were the highest cumulative audience for commercial radio with 85.6% tuning in while 80.4% of 40-54 year olds listening. 
 

Figures are based on an average of the eight ratings surveys in the five capital city markets during 2013, compared with the previous year.
