Confirmed: Bob Rogers replaced by Tim Webster on 2CH

Former Assistant Editor

Veteran 2CH broadcasters Bob Rogers decided to retire from radio last year and now his replacement has been announced.

2CH has confirmed to Radio Today that Tim Webster, currently a host on Macquarie Sports Radio, will step into the role from Monday, February 11.

Tim will broadcast from 9am-3pm Weekdays, with his show to be full of music showcases including ’60’s and 70’s Lunch Breaks’, ‘Soundtrack of your Life’ and ‘CD Spotlight’.

“When Bob Rogers announced his retirement from Mornings, it presented us with a challenge as to who would be the best person to fill his shoes,” 2CH general manager Cherie Romaro told Radio Today.

“That person is Tim Webster, he has a long successful history on radio in Sydney and he is passionate about our music and the city he loves.

“I am excited Tim accepted the challenge and I know he will be welcomed by our listeners.”

Tim also made his name on television and was previously the host of Afternoons on Sydney’s 2UE.

“Well, the first thing to say is how honoured I am to be filling the shoes and sitting in the chair occupied by iconic radio legend Bob Rogers,” said Tim.

“He was a very big part of my life growing up, his voice filled our house every morning. I grew up with and love the music played on 2CH and with the help of my new boss, Cherie Romaro, we’ll keep Sydney entertained with Classic Hits, and we’ll engage the people of Sydney, but most importantly, we’ll have fun! It’s very exciting to be doing something I love for the City I love.”
