Aussies feature prominently at 2023 NY Festivals Radio Awards

Australian entries have again featured prominently in this year’s New York Festivals Radio Awards.

Australian radio coverage of the death of Queen Elizabeth II was recognised, with 4BC Breakfast Newsreader Steve Barker collecting a Finalist award for Best Breaking News Coverage for ‘The Queen has Died.’

He was also a Finalist in the Best Radio Journalist category for ‘Facts Fast.’

Steve collected a Bronze award 4 years ago for his coverage of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race.

As reported yesterday, LiSTNR scored Gold in the Factual and Drama category for The Children In The Pictures podcast.

In the News Podcast category, Judith Neilson Institute and Deadset Studios won Silver.

ABC Radio picked up Finalist awards in three categories for its podcast Pink Diamond Heist.

The KIIS Network’s Bali Bombings 20 Years On was recognised as a Finalist for Best Sound.

SCA and LiSTNR were also recognised as a finalist for Shockwaves: The Bali Bombings.

Elsewhere, BBC won Broadcaster of the Year, while HarperCollins Publishers took out the award for Radio Production Company of the Year.
