Wippa stitch’s-up Matt De Groot

We all know that Fitzy & Wippa love to stitch each other up. This time around, newsreader Matt De Groot was the subject of one of Wippa’s April Fools Day jokes.

The Traffic Pig was at Allianz Stadium in Sydney on Saturday night to see Sydney FC take on Melbourne City in the Hyundai A-League.

While undertaking his routine ground announcing duties for Nova’s Halftime Take Over, MDG relayed a scripted dialogue formulated by Wippa, who was watching on in the commentary box.

The 20,000 strong crowd was stunned as MDG asked everyone to participate in ‘Twerk Time’, while also making a rather bizarre confession.

“Not long ago, my girlfriend caught me making love to a roast chicken,” he joked. “That one’s not an April Fools joke.”

To top it all off, Wippa made MDG break out into ‘The Worm’ on the sideline as the teams made their way back onto the ground for the second half.

Sydney FC captain Alex Brosque called up the show this morning to tell the boys what he thought of MDG’s April Fool’s antics.
