GfK Survey 1 of 2024 for the Gold Coast/Tweed Radio has landed, and it’s been a blinder of a result for the team at Hot Tomato, up 4.4 overall in People 10+ to 20.8, well ahead of 92.5 Triple M Gold (down 2.2 to 10.6) and Sea FM.

In Breakfast, Hot Tomato’s Galey & Emily Jade moved from 16.3 to a 20.6 share (up 4.3), to remain well clear of Triple M Gold (down 1.9 to 10.1) with Sea FM holding down third spot with a slight gain in Breakfast (up 0.6 to 9.6).

Hot Tomato enjoyed gains in shifts right across the day, including a massive jump in Drive (up 8.9 to 26.7).

Hot Tomato Content Director Brendon “Whippy” Dangar says “The hard work, fun and focus on local content has certainly paid off today with our best result in the history of the radio station. We are so proud of what we produce everyday for our loyal Gold Coast audience and again have proven local wins all day everyday. We’re off to the roof top bar!”

Pete Whitehead, ARN Chief Commercial Officer says“Congratulations to the entire team at Hot Tomato for these record results. It’s clear that Hot Tomato’s 100% local approach resonates deeply, capturing hearts and delivering tangible results. With huge growth across all dayparts and significant gains in the important 25-54 demographic, we’re excited about the opportunities this brings for our clients and will continue to leverage these results to drive impactful advertising campaigns across the Gold and Tweed Coasts.”

Triple J always did well on Gold Coast.
SCA and ABC plummeting in ratings.
Their content speaks for itself, and listeners are voting with their feet.

After hearing Kyle Sandilands discuss his major deal on Game Changers yesterday and his comments on the lack of appreciation for regional when it comes to these breakfast shows, I would be concerned about these results working for that company.

I stopped listening to them because I kept hearing the same songs 2 or 3 times a day, EVERY DAY.
It was driving me crazy

There needs to be changes made at Triple M as the station has been declining for a couple of years now.

Let me get this straight- SCA fired their programmers then went down in the ratings! My god, did not see that coming.

Nice job Whip! Good to see one of the good guys doing so well

So sad for past listeners that the bosses of Triple M and SeaFM have allowed their shows, the announcers, the brands and their reputations to be kicked to the kerb in the last few years. Sign of the times, they are now irrelevant.

The Gold Coast market has been a failure at SCA for a long time.
