Alan Jones to join 4BC Brisbane

Staff Writer

Macquarie Radio Network's Alan Jones will present a one hour show live to Brisbane from January 19.

The live show will appear on 4BC weekdays for an hour from 8am Queensland time with Alan returning early from holidays. The Brisbane program will appear after his normal 2GB Sydney breakfast shift.

The Alan Jones show on 4BC will combine Jones’ own political commentary, interviews and talkback with the 4BC audience. Alan's Queensland only show is set to appear for 2 weeks only at this stage as the State election comes into full swing.

"The Queensland election is shaping up to be a state of the nation issue with implications for the Abbott government, as well as Premier Campbell Newman,” Fairfax Radio Network National Content Director Clark Forbes said.

“It's fantastic to have such an experienced and skilled broadcaster as Alan Jones on 4BC for his expert commentary on what is likely to be one of the most intriguing and dramatic political battles of the year."

4BC General Manager Anthony Frangi said: “Alan is a familiar voice on 4BC and we look forward to
having him back on air for this special two week program. The combination of Alan Jones, followed
by Patrick Condren will make for some powerful radio throughout this election campaign.”

4BC, currently still a Fairfax Radio Network station, will take the exclusive Alan Jones program from Macquarie Radio Network ahead of the planned merger of the two companies.
