What’s the first song on your emergency tape?

The SAFM breakfast show, Michael, Hayley & Burgo, staged a pretend walk-out today – not because of anything controversial but because they wanted to know what the first song was on the station emergency tape.

Considering these are very rarely updated, the show figured it could have been something from the Double SA-FM days (30 years ago). 

They took listener suggestions as to what the song might be and then broadcast dead air for 30 seconds before the 'tape' kicked in. That's one thing that gets the heart racing in a radio station – silence.
