We’re rapt: SCA on Survey 2
SCA says it’s rapt with the momentum its stations and breakfast, drive and night shows have delivered, after a strong showing in the second survey of 2022.
SCA Chief Content Officer Dave Cameron points to significant audience cume growth across the country, as people return to cars and workplaces.
He also notes a shift back to music and entertainment stations.
“The Hit Network remains No.1 nationally in our key target of 25-54 women, and likewise Triple M as No.1 for 25-54 men,” he says.
“In Sydney, 2DayFM and Triple M Sydney both delivered terrific audience growth through breakfast, workday and drive.”
“In Melbourne, The Fox continues its rise post-lockdowns with large rises in the Fifi, Fev and Nick breakfast show now just 0.7 off No.1 FM, and Fox remains the most listened to station in Australia with nearly 1.2m cume.”
“B105’s Stav, Abbie and Matt delivered a No.1 FM Breakfast result for Brisbane with strong audience increases across the station.”
“Nationally, Triple M’s Marty Sheargold Show remains No.1 25-54 men, Carrie and Tommy on Hit has increased its audience by another 104,000 national listeners.”
“Abbie Chatfield’s new national Hit nights show Hot Nights has delivered its second national share increase after only 10 weeks on air.”
Nine of SCA’s 10 metro stations were up in survey 2, and Cameron says many of those are seeing their best results in several years.
Cute.
Very funny Dave. Good joke.
DC seems very ” enthusiastic ” about Abby.
If you asked Dave Cameron 2 years ago if he would be “rapt” with a figure of 4% for the new 2DAY FM breakfast show, I wonder what he would have said?
Classic SCA…..celebrating mediocrity. I see Instagram stories of people in the Sydney office on the 2Day FM floor popping champagne……for what…..happy you’re the last placed FM station in Sydney again?
How is the FOX “most listened to in Australia” but behind GOLD and 3AW in Melbourne?
3rd in Melbourne and 1st nationally?
JM, good question.
* The city by city rankings are measured by share of audience. This is a comparative share of total radio listeners.
* ‘Most listened to’ is about what is known as cumulative audience (cume), which is a measure of the number of people listening not the % share of audience. Fox has the most number of people listening to it (1.19 million) according to station cumes. https://radioinfo.com.au/news/kylle-and-jackie-o-lead-breakfast-cumes-with-their-stablemates-jase-lauren-the-big-improvers
Hope that is useful.
