Warm & fuzzies for smoothfm winner

This week, the team at smoothfm got a case of the warm and fuzzies when they handed over a giant cheque for a giant sum.

A listener, whose husband was out of work, correctly guessed the four voices of smooth stars to pocket $110,400.

Victoria (on the right of the pic), who planned to split the winnings with a friend Amanda (second from the left) who’d been playing along with her, was in shock when announcer Simon Diaz told her she’d won.

Her husband Corey explained what the win meant to them.

“I’ve had a back injury for a few years now and we are in the middle of trying to sort things out and try and get ourselves back on our feet and you’ve just done it," he said.

“You’ve just got us out of the biggest hole we’ve ever been in in our entire life. I can’t believe it.”

smooth stars has been run on smoothfm several times a year since the station launch two years ago.
