UMA boss scores a promotion

George Ash, UMA’s President of Australia and New Zealand, will now become President of Universal Music Asia Pacific.

Ash said:

“I have been lucky enough to work alongside the best in the industry in Australia and New Zealand. With Max (Hole, Chairman and CEO of UMA) now giving me this great opportunity and with our diverse and exceptional artists I’m very positive about Asia Pacific’s unprecedented growth potential and what we can achieve together.”

Since moving to Sydney from NZ in 2001 he has had major successes with Gotye, Wolfmother and Tame Impala, to name a few.

Max Hole said:

“In Australia and New Zealand George has built one of our most dynamic international operations with a very strong roster of artists and an immensely talented team of people. I’m very pleased that he will now be applying his energy and ideas to our business across the Asia Pacific region.”
