Triple M’s Margaux Parker can talk, but can she sing?

Triple M Brisbane’s Margaux Parker (pictured) is set to take her voice to the next level, throwing her hat in the ring for the inaugural Unsung Heroes singing competition on October 7 to raise money for The Carers Foundation.

Margaux is one of eight influential people who entered the competition from Brisbane and surrounding areas that have not only been fundraising since last October, but also tuning up their vocal cords under the guidance of Creative Director and Vocal Coach, Lisa Lockland-Bell.

All contestants will bring their efforts onto the stage for a live sing-off finale as they compete for The Unsung Hero Award.

“I’m not going to lie, I’m not the world’s best singer but I can’t wait to get up there and give it a go,” Parker said.

“I’m always belting out the songs in the studio at Triple M and forcing Marto and Dan to listen to me, so it made sense to take the opportunity to jump up on stage.”

The cause all entrants are working for, The Carers Foundation, provides emotional, physical and mental support for unpaid workers, as wells as wellness programs to help with their well-being.

The charity’s aim is to provide consistent, high-quality support to combat compassion fatigue and prevent health crisis breakdowns, but it is not government funded and therefore relies on grants, donations and fundraising events.

Margaux is hoping to raise $20,000 for The Carers Foundation.
