Triple M Hobart launches ‘million dollars worth of work’ job seeker campaign

Triple M's A Million Dollars Worth of Work campaign

Triple M Hobart’s Brian Carlton will be matching up job seekers with local vacancies as part of a new segment on his Breakfast show.

Over the next few weeks, Triple M will run a jobs board on its website, listing local vacancies, and open the phone lines to job seekers and nearby employers. Carlton will also promote some of the jobs on-air and on social media.

The ultimate goal is to match up Hobart job seekers with one million dollars worth of work. Businesses are encouraged to post their job vacancies here.

The idea was born after Carlton spoke to a caller whose husband had lost his job during the pandemic and was struggling to find work. After hearing the call, local businessman John Brierley contacted Triple M to offer the man a position.

“There’s a record 12-year high in terms of job ads nationally, yet there’s still huge numbers of people on job-seeker benefits… we’re aiming to match these people up,” Carlton said in a statement.
