Tom Ballard’s Ego is Better than Your Ego

triple j breakfast host Tom Ballard has started his Melbourne Comedy Festival Show 'My Ego is Better Than Your Ego'.

In one part of the show he talks about recent controversies including his holocaust joke on triple j (see here) and his Twitter argument with Andrew Stockdale of Wolfmother (see here).

Ballard says the feud with Stockdale was "…funny, but bullshit. I wish we could just punch each other like in the old days."

In an interview with the Herald Sun, Ballard also said he would continue to keep taboo topics in the spotlight.

"We need to remind ourselves – comedy is words. Obviously, words have impact. But talking about rape is not endorsing rape. It's not as bad as rape. That's important to keep in mind."

"Racial humour, misogyny – I'm always interested in those discussions, those debates. I think comedy should be able to talk about dark shit on stage."
