Three replacements announced as Tom Tilley takes time off ‘Hack’

Former Assistant Editor
triple j, HACK

triple j‘s Hack program is bound for a shakeup over the coming months, as regular host Tom Tilley takes a break.

The host, who is also a touring member of the band Client Liaison, will be working on an assignment for ABC TV’s Foreign Correspondent.

His chair will be warmed by three incredible journalists; triple j Breakfast newsreader Alice Matthews, Hack reporter Avani Dias and The Feed presenter Laura Murphy-Oates.

The three journos will take it in month-long turns to host Hack.

Avini Dias will kick off the first month. She was recently a 2019 Walkley Finalist for Young Journalist of the Year.

“Throughout my life, Hack has helped me learn about the world and my place in it,” she said. “I care so much about what we cover and experience a lot of it in my own life, so I feel privileged and excited to take over the Hack reins for the next month.”

She’ll be followed by 2015 Walkley Winner Matthews, and finally Murphy-Oates, who won the 2018 Walkley for Young Journalist of the year.

triple j’s Hack airs at 5:30pm Weeknights.
