The Stinger is Stung

A regular segment on the ‘Hughesy & Kate’ Drive show is Kate Langbroek’s alter-ego ‘Barb’ who catfishes scammers who are looking to extort her for money.

‘Barb’ strings them along, and then reveals the ‘reverse sting’. But yesterday the tables were turned.

While in character as Barb and on the phone to her latest scammer Edwin, things took an unexpected turn when Edwin told Barb he wanted to see her….right now. And then walked straight into the studio mid phone call.

The video is terrific. What Kate wasn’t aware of was that the latest scammer Edwin was an actor, playing the role of a scammer, setup by Hughesy – and all the scammer phone calls were leading up to the big reveal.
