Terry Hansen announces month off to walk the Camino

KIIS 97.3’s Robin, Terry & Kip, co-host Terry Hansen has announced he will be taking a month off the show to walk The Camino in Spain.

Terry’s brother invited him on the famous pilgrimage so the pair could reconnect after stress in the family.

“I talked to the bosses, and they’re going to give me about a month off,” Terry said.

Terry will be absent from Robin, Terry & Kip’s Breakfast show from September 25th until his return in late October. 

To prepare for the five-week trek, Terry has been waking up at 3:00am to walk the 8km to work so he totals 500 miles before leaving in September.

Terry’s brother who has completed the walk before said it’s time to reset. 

“He just said to me while we were dealing with this stuff, mate you know, the person I really want to do this with is you,” Terry said.

“We’re brothers who don’t spend enough time together. Brothers who haven’t spent a lot of time together a long time.”
