Tamworth announcer’s dance for cancer

92.9FM drive host Crystal Vas has signed up for Tamworth’s Celebrity Dance for Cancer.

The 19 year old will perform on June 14 and said: “I've never really done any dancing before, well unless you count dance classes when I was six years old (but I was always the awkward kid in the back corner.)”

“I've never been very coordinated or good at sports, so learning a four minute Viennese Waltz has probably been one of the most challenge things I've ever done.”

“There have been drops, falls, trips and pretty much everything in between.”

With just 10 days until the big dance, Vas said everything is finally ‘starting to click’.

“As long as I don't fall of the stage I’ll be happy,” she added.

The cause is close to Vas’ heart and she explained: “I lost my nan to cancer a couple years ago, so I think the Cancer Council is a great cause.”

She has been raising money on the side of the road, during outside broadcasts from shopping centres and letting businesses hire her.
