Success 101

Beware how you take away hope from another human being today.

Be aware above all if it is you insidiously doing the injury to you.

Let’s face it, selling is a tough gig. It’s demanding enough with or without listening to our own negative self-talk. “I can’t do this.” “He won’t buy.” “I’m not as good as Frank.”

The only way to overcome fear, apprehension, or anxiety about anything is to (in simple terms), get off our butts and begin to move. Action is everything, just start walking.

Believe this – your day is not about how much money you take home, or how many sales you secure. It is not about what percentage of quota you are at, and it is certainly not about how competent you look in the eyes of your superiors. It is about your affect during the process of your day. Simple. Unadulterated.

It is about being you.

Present your station and your ideas in your own inimitable fashion, ask for the order and wait. The result is and never will be in your hands so don’t fear, the answers will come. Understand you can never sell something to someone who does not want to buy, so seek out those who want to acquire. Repeat your task again, again, and again. And along the way see if you can get out of your own head (even just for a moment), and begin to be of true service to the people who are put in your path. They do appear for a reason.

You will be looked after, I promise.

“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a little better; whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is the meaning of success.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Get inspired and get going.

Sell without regret.
