SEN and Netball Australia join forces in radio broadcast partnership

In a first for netball in Australia, Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) has secured exclusive radio rights for Super Netball and Australian Diamonds matches, as part of a three-year agreement with Netball Australia.

SEN will broadcast a ‘Match of the Round’ each week and every match of SEN’s newly acquired eighth Suncorp Super Netball team across its radio and digital platforms.

SEN’s radio coverage of the Diamonds will begin in October, with the newly crowned World Cup winners playing two international Test series.

SEN will broadcast the 13th Constellation Cup between the Diamonds and the New Zealand Silver Ferns across SEN, beginning on Thursday 12 October in Melbourne, before heading to Brisbane on Sunday 15 October.

The teams will then cross the Tasman with the final games taking place in Invercargill and Auckland on Thursday 19 October and Monday 23 October.

The Diamonds will play their first-ever Test match in Cairns on Wednesday 25 October, followed by matches in Hobart on Sunday 29 October and Tuesday 31 October.

Netball Australia CEO Kelly Ryan says the new deal will increase coverage for fans.

“This is an exciting step for netball, as it’s the first time we have been able to commercialise radio rights for the sport.”

“We are looking forward to working with SEN to boost coverage for fans both domestically and internationally.”

SEN Chief Executive Craig Hutchison says the deal shows the group’s commitment to the sport.

“We are all in on netball, and I’m thrilled to announce these broadcasting initiatives that will allow fans to enjoy even more netball action than ever before.”
