Radio reunion slated for Sean ‘Flan’ Flanagan after gap year
After leaving Hot Tomato on the Gold Coast to explore opportunities “outside of radio”, Sean ‘Flan’ Flanagan is returning to early starts at The Goldie’s 92.5 Triple M.
He joins Bridget ‘Bridge’ Brousard and Peter ‘Spida’ Everitt for the Bridge & Spida Now with Flan breakfast show on August 31.
No stranger to the network, the veteran broadcaster Flan reunites with Triple M where he got his start writing for Triple M Sydney’s Andrew Denton breakfast show back in 1999.
His first on-air gig was hosting Sunday nights on the same Sydney station before relocating to Triple M Brisbane where he was an announcer during the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.
92.5 Triple M Content Director, Corey Kay, said signing Flan is “a win for the Gold Coast and Tweed audience” after his “Mature Age Gap Year”.
“His natural ability to entertain and make people laugh has been missed,” Kay said. “What makes it sweeter is he’s returning to radio on Triple M to join Bridge and Spida for breakfast.
“He’s a passionate local who is a genuinely good bloke, our loyal listeners are going to love him. We look forward to welcoming all those ‘Flan Fans’ who will now follow him to 92.5 Triple M!”
Flan announced he would leave the Flan, Emily Jade & Christo show on Hot Tomato last December – which rated #1 at the time of his departure – to focus on family and health.
“I’m pumped to be joining the Triple M family – where does this family live by the way? Are there communal bathrooms?” Flan quipped in a statement.
“I’m looking forward to having a giggle with Bridge and Spida and talking with Gold Coasters about the best city in the world – Burpengary and the second-best city, The Gold Coast.”
