Hit105 and 104.5 Triple M have been broadcasting from the new SCA Brisbane studios for over a month, but it was only overnight that SCA held its official launch party.

The move from North Quay to the new Audio HQ at The Barracks was first touted a year ago, and last night some 200 guests joined SCA talent from around the country to celebrate the grand opening.

New addition to Triple M Breakfast Nick Cody opened the night with some stand-up, while the night also saw a performance by The Veronicas.

Talent to join the celebrations included Dave Hughes, Danny Lakey and Ash London as well as local talent Hit105’s Stav, Abby & Matt and Triple M’s Marto, Robin Bailey and Nick Cody from Triple M.

CEO Grant Blackley, Chief Sales Officer Brian Gallagher, Chief Financial Officer Nick Mckechnie, Head of Triple M Network Mike Fitzpatrick, Head of Hit Network Gemma Fordham, National Head of Sales Will Allen, National Head of News and Current Affairs Natasha Jobson and National Research Manager John Musgrove were all on hand.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and Leader of the Opposition Deb Frecklington joined senior leaders from all national advertising agencies, CEOS and leaders from 40 of Brisbane’s leading corporates as well as some of SCA’s top clients.

Dave Hughes broadcast the Hughesy & Kate Drive show live from Audio HQ in the Afternoon, with Kate Langbroek joining from Italy.

AUDIO HQ is touted by SCA as “the country’s most advanced radio super studios” including “the largest electrical switchboard in SCA history!”

“The creation of SCA Brisbane’s Audio HQ was 18 months in the making. All 125 Brisbane staff were involved in the design and furniture selection and our goal was not only to create Australia’s leading Audio facility, but to deliver an environment that would allow our team to maximise both collaboration and innovative thinking,” said executive general manager of SCA Queensland Damon Reilly.

“The foresight and support of our CEO, Grant Blackley cannot be understated, to provide the investment in Queensland for a facility such is a privilege for me to lead and one which reflects Brisbane’s growing reputation and growth.

“Tonight is a celebration of all things Audio. Welcome to the Queensland headquarters of Australia’s biggest media company that reaches 95% of Australia’s population, SCA. Welcome to Brisbane’s leading radio stations, Triple M & Hit105. Welcome to SCA’s Audio HQ.”

“Welcome to Brisbane’s leading radio stations”?
Looks like launch night also will coincide with the first defamation suite!

Calm ya farm mates. In Brisbane for the last two years everyone gets a go at being number one!

Tell ya what if I worked at that flash new building I’d FEEL like I was number one, and that’s all that matters really

Oprah – I disagree.
What really matters is making the best product for the people of Brisbane … not the building.
You feel number one – creating radio that engages people and let’s them feel part of something. That’s what matters!
