“I wanted a new challenge and I’m really getting that here”: SCA’s Chris Ledlin
SCA’s social media director Chris Ledlin was a guest on the latest edition of The World In Social podcast with Chris Rieger.
While making various job moves across radio, television and tech throughout his career, the challenge that lay before him at SCA was too good to refuse.
“I wanted to lead a team and build a strategy with a network. Everyone in radio has such a creative mind and I wanted that leap of faith to try something different.”
The former personal assistant to Jackie O spoke on a range of social media-related topics including his work on International Women’s Day, one of the biggest initiatives that Ledlin has tackled since his return to SCA in November 2016.
“It’s something I was really proud of,” Ledlin said, referring to the 3.8 million people that listened to Hit’s national Breakfast show that morning. “We wanted to do something special for such a great cause.
“Innovation is something I think a lot about in this role and we were able to use social and digital to amplify the message.”
According to Ledlin, this is not the last time SCA will explore the realms of live video content.
“Facebook Live is the hottest social product at the moment,” he said. “It’s all about video now – behind the scenes sells. Expect more in the live space across the entire SCA network.”
Ledlin also gave his tip on the up-and-coming social media platform that will be making an impact this year.
“Instagram Stories is definitely one to watch. They just announced early this week that they have 200 million daily active users and have surpassed Snapchat.”
Where did they pull the 3.8 million number from?
