Sat Bisla’s Passport Approved hits Aussie airwaves on Triple M

Staff Writer

Bringing a ton of groundbreaking, undiscovered music from alternative music artists spanning the globe, SCA’s Triple M Modern Digital has begun broadcasting the influential global pre-discovery music program Passport Approved.

Triple M will broadcast the two-hour program twice a week from 5pm to 7pm across several markets in Australia including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.

Originally beginning in 2004 on Indie 1031.FM Los Angeles, the program has served as a launchpad for artists Adele, Lily Allen, Wolfmother, Lorde, KONGOS, Sheppard, Tove Lo, Arctic Monkeys, The Temper Trap and Teddybears, among numerous others.

Passport Approved host and music director Sat Bisla will continue to break new international alternative music on Triple M’s airwaves, the same way he’s done since starting out in radio in 1984. Bisla’s 30 years as a host has included stints with KCRW Los Angeles and the late KKDJ The Edge in Central California.

In addition to commencing on Triple M, Passport Approved will go to air this week on alternative Jam 88.3 FM (Metro Manila, Philippines), ZFM 96.2FM in Holland; RadioWAVE 96.7FM in Namibia, Radio Amistad (Santiago, Dominican Republic in the Caribbean) and Wave FM 94.5FM in St Lucia, extending it’s reach to six continents.

The program also recently started broadcasting across the US state of Nevada on the officially monitored KVNV “NV89” (Nevada Public Radio Reno).
