SCA celebrates 50th anniversary of Mushroom Group

SCA is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Michael Gudinski’s Mushroom Group with a dedicated LiSTNR station and Triple lunchtime music special.

The limited edition digital station, MUSHROOM 50, will relive the Mushroom Group journey by playing all the best of Mushroom Music.

It will feature full album plays, top 10 hits, live performances, acoustic versions, classic covers, new music and exclusive artist moments.

Melbourne’s 105.1 Triple M will air the week-long lunchtime music special called MG Moments – celebrating the best of the Melbourne music scene from Mushroom Music.

Hosted by Matty O’Gorman of Homegrown with Matty O, MG Moments will also share stories from behind the scenes at Mushroom, from early talent signings to interviews with Lee Simon and Jimmy Barnes

“It’s an honour for SCA to reflect on the incredible impact both MG and Mushroom have had on the Australian music landscape over 50 years,” said Dave Cameron, SCA’s Chief Content Officer.

“The relationship between SCA and Mushroom runs deep and long, and we’re privileged to have Triple M relive the magic of Mushroom.”

Michael Gudinski’s son, Matt Gudinski, will co-host a full show alongside Matty O, sharing what it was like “Growing up Mushroom,” remembering his early memories and stories of touring with Ed Sheeran and the Foo Fighters.

Matt will also look ahead to the next crop of Mushroom’s artists, providing insight into what to expect from Mushroom’s concert in November.

“SCA has been such an integral partner to Mushroom across our 50-year history and we are thrilled to partner with them to deliver a series that captures the spirit of Mushroom and my late father, showcasing the people and artists that helped evolve the Australian music scene into what it is today,” said Matt Gudinski.

MUSHROOM 50 and Triple M’s MG Moments can be heard now on LiSTNR.

Ego: The Michael Gudinski Story is in theatres across the country on August 31.
