SA’s Hoopsters NBL1 Central Basketball Show returns

Adelaide community radio station Radio Italia Uno 87.6FM is hosting a second year of the weekly Hoopsters NBL1 Central Basketball Show that’s starting this month, offering all the extras to complement the season.

Hosted by journalist Bevan ‘Bevo’ Jones and former player and coach of South Adelaide PanthersJake ‘Jakey’ Burfitt, the pair will provide listeners with wrap-ups of all of the men’s and women’s games, preview the upcoming matches and interview some of the biggest names in the competition.

Jake Burfitt is passionate about NBL1 Central and wants to use the show to give the league as “much exposure as possible.”

“I want to give the fans who love it as much access and insight as possible through talking to the players and some thoughtful analysis about their teams,” said Burfitt.

“We want NBL1 Central to have the same opportunities and exposure through media avenues as the other leagues!”

Burfitt is replacing last year’s host, Allan ‘Downtown’ Browne.

Bevo assures fans of NBL1 Central that Hoopsters will continue to go the extra mile to provide the best content.

“We are the only NBL1 Central-focused live weekly basketball show in Adelaide and we will go out of our way to get the best and most relevant guests on the show – starting with our first episode – having two stars from the men’s and women’s championship teams from 2022,” Bevo said.

An Eastern Mavericks die-hard, Bevo also did match reports of the team last year as part of his job as a journalist at the Mt Barker Courier newspaper.

The NBL1 Central Basketball Show can be heard weekly between 7-8pm on Radio Italia Uno 87.6FM or via the Radio Italia Uno app.

Catch-up is also available on Spotify.
