Radio in Australia – is it still dominated by White Males?

Staff Writer

Diversity in Australian radio was a topic at this year’s National Radio Conference. While females have made some ground in closing the gender gap, is commercial radio reflecting the real cultural mix of Australia today?

The session discussed the changing face of Australia and how radio can better reflect its audience with its On and Off-Air talent.

The session featured SBS Director of Audio, Language and Content Mandi Wicks, Nova Entertainments Head of HR Alana Howe, Grant Broadcasters Barry Lea from Cairns, Andrea Ho ABC Local Radio Manager and SBS Radio’s EP of audio and language, Christophe Mall.
