Geelong’s K rock and Bay 93.9 will have a familiar face at the helm following the departure of Andy Mathers.

Sales Manager Rachel Patterson has agreed to step in as acting General Manager of Geelong Broadcasters for the next 3 months, effective from this Monday, January 23rd.

Last month, Mathers announced he would be stepping down after ten years in the GM role to pursue a new career path outside the media.

Patterson tells Radio Today “I am thrilled to take the reins at Geelong Broadcasters, at an important time for this business.”

“With the support of the Cameron family, and a brilliant local team, Andy has done an outstanding job evolving these products, and leading our people for almost a decade.”

Now, with 42% of local people tuning in to K rock 95.5 and Bay 93.9 each week*, and what must arguably be the best workplace culture in the country, I look forward to firing up 2023, and guiding our growth through this next chapter.”

Patterson has more than 20 years of radio experience across operations, content, promotions, copy and sales.

Tertiary educated – with a Bachelor of Broadcasting from The New Zealand Broadcasting School – Patterson has extensive account management experience, working with boutique agency and direct clients in Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland.
