On the Campaign: NZME NZ general election podcast

New Zealand Media and Entertainment (NZME) has released the daily podcast, On the Campaign – covering key stories, policies, and moments leading up to the general election.

Created by NZ Herald and hosted by Georgina Campbell and Hamish Fletcher, the podcast caters to political enthusiasts and those seeking a deeper understanding of the election campaign. 

Murray Kirkness, NZME Chief Content Officer – Publishing, said it is important for audiences to get quality information from a variety of sources.

“As one of New Zealand’s leading news platforms, we’re committed to sharing news worth knowing in formats that appeal to our audiences,” said Kirkness. 

“We are proud to present a podcast that captures the essence of the campaign providing our listeners with intriguing analysis, insightful conversations, and an exclusive peek into the ever-shifting political panorama.”

Newstalk ZB is also introducing three podcast series, with each offering a different angle on the evolving political landscape:

  • The Front Bench: A live weekly discussion every Monday from 4pm, featuring analysis from Heather du Plessis-AllanBarry SoperRichard Hills, and Phil O’Reilly.
  • Behind the List: A weekly series hosted by Newstalk ZB’s Senior Political Correspondent and former Political Editor, Barry Soper. The podcast features exclusive interviews and analysis as the campaign unfolds.
  • Election Fix: Presented by Raylene Ramsay, Election Fix is a daily show that delves into electoral headlines and the stories shaping the campaign’s trajectory
