Nova’s Ben and Liam have a crack at ARN’s Mix 102.3

Ben and Liam have taken a shot at Mix 102.3 for claiming they were Adelaide’s number one breakfast show, despite Ali Clarke having the number one breakfast show with ABC Radio Adelaide at the time.

“All last year Mix claimed they were number one. They weren’t, that’s fine. They made that choice,” said Liam.

“It was actually Ali Clarke on the ABC, for like, the whole year.”

The pair unleashed a roast on the station, explaining how too many radio stations get away with stretching the truth in promotional claims.

“Radio stations claim what they want, it’s kind of like the wild west, everyone’s always number one,” said Liam.

“If ratings are great, we’re number one, if they’re bad, great – we’re still number one, because they always find a way to skin it, so it sounds good. Like, guys we did it, we’re still number one! For women in their mid-forties living in Salisbury.”

Ali Clarke later moved to Mix, bringing Adelaide’s number one breakfast show to the station, which was then advertised as such.

“She’s moved there now, and they’ve back flipped. Guys, weren’t you always number one though?” said Liam.

“I think there needs to be some kind of governing body. Somebody needs to reel in all these outlandish claims. Radio stations are just lying through their teeth.”

Ben and Liam then join the trend, claiming to be the world’s best radio station and globally number one in over 98 countries with their own mickey-taking audio promotion.

“I’m glad we are held to a certain standard here at Nova and we don’t claim to be something we are not,” said Liam.
