Nova brings back in-person Red Room performances featuring Guy Sebastian, Amy Shark and more
Sydney radio listeners will once again have the chance to attend a Nova Red Room, with the network bringing back the concert series, in-person, ahead of the 2020 ARIA Awards.
Nova has been live-streaming some Red Rooms throughout the pandemic, however the November gigs featuring Ruel and Amy Shark, and Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy, will take place with an audience at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion.
Nova said the exclusive performances would help reignite the music industry ahead of the ARIA Awards.
Paul Jackson, NOVA Entertainment’s chief programming and marketing officer, said it has never been more important for artists to have the opportunity to connect with fans.
“Nova’s Red Room ARIA Edition is always a special event for the Nova Network, as we celebrate the Australian music industry and support some of the country’s best artists. During 2020 it has never been more important to provide an opportunity for musicians to connect with and perform live for their fans, we are proud to help rejuvenate the live music scene in Australia and put on some of the first live music gigs, celebrating our local talent and recognising the importance of the ARIA Awards,” he said.
Dan Rosen, the soon-to-depart CEO of ARIA, added: “ARIA Week is a brilliant way to extend the celebration of Australian music across November in the lead up to the ARIA Awards. I am thrilled to once again partner with Nova and Mitsubishi to showcase our incredible Australian talent at these very special gigs.”
Listeners will have the chance to win tickets to the gig from November 2, by listening to Smallzy’s Surgery and entering online. Mitsubishi will also run a competition for an exclusive drive-in experience for select fans.
Ruel and Amy Shark will perform on Wednesday, November 18, with Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy to follow on Thursday, November 19.
