NOVA Entertainment has revealed an exclusive new partnership with ESL – the world’s largest esports company.

The partnership will see NOVA Entertainment’s radio and digital platforms leveraged to promote IEM Sydney – ESL’s flagship esports event in Australia – as well as the ESL Australia and NZ Championships.

In return, Nova will exclusively represent and sell ESL inventory for the Championships in Australia.

“We are excited to partner with ESL, a global leader in esports, with an established award-winning presence in Australia,” said NOVA Entertainment head of M&A, strategy and partnerships Nathan Reay.

“As esports experiences enormous growth, NOVA Entertainment is committed to being at the forefront of its expansion in Australia”

Esports features professional gamers with large online or live audiences, and is growing at a phenomenal rate, with its Aussie fan base doubling in five years and global growth up 14% in 2018 – creating fantastic advertising opportunities.

The sponsorship and advertising driven industry exceeded $900 million in 2018 revenue.

“ESL has pioneered the way in esports live events and broadcast innovation in Australia and it is our mission to continue to develop the ecosystem here,” said ESL Australia managing director Nick Vanzetti.

“Partnering with NOVA Entertainment will provide the growth platform to bring mass audience to esports in Australia through IEM and the ESL AU & NZ Championships.”

Some esports finals have had a larger collective audience than the superbowl or the NBA finals. Really smart to get onto this now.
