New GM confirmed for ACE Radio in Gippsland

Staff Writer

David McDonald will replace Grant Johnstone as general manager of ACE Radio’s two Gippsland stations, 1242 and TRFM.

McDonald is currently the CEO of Variety, the Queensland-based children’s charity. Previous to that, he had his own consulting and training business.

ACE Radio CEO Mark Taylor said, “David, or D-Mac as he is known around the radio industry, is a well-respected and experienced General Manager, who loves the radio business.”

McDonald has also served on the CRA research committee as well as the ACRA judging panel. He also chaired the QLD panel for ACRA.

D-Mac commences his new role on July 1. And as previously reported, outgoing GM Johnstone has accepted a new role with ACE, leading its new ACE Digital business.
