Look Who’s Making it in Radio: Stephen Jones

Stephen Jones of Hamilton’s 3HA & Mixx FM isn’t just Making it in Radio himself, but he’s also helping others make it in radio.

The Group Manager mentors staff to give them the best chance at furthering their careers at the station and in radio.

“My job involves supporting my staff and helping them achieve their goals,” said Stephen.

Surrounded by high achievers, ACE Radio boasts nine ACRAs collected over the years, including Best Production, Best On-Air Team and Best Newcomer Off-Air.

Stephen says he is a part of a great team who are highly motivated, passionate and put their community first.

“The staff are fantastic to work with as they are driven and passionate about what they do and achieve every day,” said Stephen.

“We desire to be an important part of the local Hamilton/Portland communities, and look to support them at every opportunity.”

Stephen also contributes by keeping things organised, communicating with the community to drive events and works to keep things safe around the office.

“I also help coordinate training and WHS compliance for the ACE Radio Network,” said Stephen.

Spoilt for choice outside of work, Stephen is planted between the Grampians and the beach, capitalising on the best of both worlds in the region with regular hikes and motorbike escapes.

“I also enjoy attending local sporting events when I can,” said Stephen.

Recently, the team celebrated Halloween, with everyone in the office going to lengths to dress up and create some out-of-the-box excitement around the office, a display of the team spirit and energy.
